Bridgeway Foundation
I partnered with Bridgeway Foundation, a private operating foundation working in conflict zones worldwide, to refresh their brand and create a modern website that is as impactful as their work.
The Brief
Bridgeway is a foundation focused on stopping war criminals and bringing them to justice — going after the root causes of violence rather than treating its symptoms. Where most humanitarian foundations (Save the Children, World Vision, etc.) work downstream, delivering aid and relief, Bridgeway works upstream: pursuing accountability at the source of conflict. The brand is defined by three qualities:
Agility
Lean and nimble, without the bureaucratic drag of larger institutions
Commitment to seeing it through
Where others treat symptoms, Bridgeway is built to win
Strength through justice
Operating with the diplomatic authority of an institution like the UN, from a position of power rather than charity
Positioning line: Winning the peace in a world at war.

Design Direction
Design an incredibly strong, memorable logo that:
• Communicates the mission — stopping war criminals and delivering justice
• Suggests precision and accuracy
• Feels modern and distinctive, not traditional-nonprofit
• Projects strength and institutional credibility over warmth or sentimentality
Tone
Photography is focused on portraits of individuals paired with textural images of elements like smoke and sunsets. The combination of these elements evokes a narrative of conflict, power, and transformation, with undertones of resilience, struggle, and transition.
Type
Typography and symbols mirror mechanical forms and foundational shapes, conveying structure and power. Clear, credible, contemporary.
Color
Colors of twilight convey a feeling of an in-between state between war and peace. A sunset can mark survival, perseverance, or the promise of a new dawn despite destruction. Vibrant orange conveys urgency and action while warm grays, blues and neutrals provide a grounded foundation.

The Website
What started as a simple, brochure-style informational site has been rebuilt into a full editorial platform — positioning Bridgeway less like a traditional foundation and more like an intelligence-driven organization publishing primary research. The homepage leads with mission and outcomes, then routes into two long-form, magazine-style case studies with read times, data visualizations, photography, and downloadable PDFs — credible enough for press and policy audiences, accessible enough for a first-time visitor.
The two flagship case studies trace Bridgeway's evolution from tactical intervention to strategic disruption: the LRA study documents the five-year (2010–2015) campaign against Joseph Kony built on tactical support, intelligence, and DDR programming, while the ISCAP study covers Bridgeway's ongoing work against the ISIS-affiliated group in eastern Congo through non-kinetic pillars — diplomacy, community sensitization, defection messaging, and rehabilitation — each grounded in hard outcome data, original research, and firsthand survivor and defector accounts. Content for both was developed in close collaboration with the Bridgeway team, translating internal reporting, field data, and interview material into a narrative built for a public, non-specialist audience without losing rigor.
Visually, the case studies lean on interactive charts and data visualizations to carry the evidence — inspired by the confident, systems-level design language of sites like Anduril and Palantir, where dense operational data is made to feel authoritative and legible rather than academic. That same design sensibility reinforces the brand's positioning: precision, rigor, and institutional authority over the softer, appeal-driven tone typical of traditional foundations.
